Overview:


Hyundai Motor Company is a South Korean automobile manufacturer, which has its magnificent fleet all across the international car market. Their vehicles are luxuriously designed and fitted with performance packed engines and sophisticated features. The company has a lot of splendid vehicles in their stable, among which Hyundai i10 is a good looking hatchback series. The company is selling this model in quite a few variants in 1.2-litre petrol, 1.1-litre diesel and LPG fuel options. These engines have the ability to churn out an impressive power and torque outputs, which helps in delivering a decent performance. These are mated with both five speed manual and four speed automatic transmission gear box depending on the variant. It braking mechanism is quite efficient and further augmented by ABS along with electronic brake force distribution. At the same time, it also has a proficient suspension system, which keeps the vehicle well balanced at all times. The manufacturer has given it a compact body structure and fitted with a lot of striking features that makes it one of the best looking hatchback in its segment. The frontage has a bold radiator grille with a prominent chrome plated logo in the center. It also has a trendy headlight cluster, which is incorporated with bright halogen lamps, ORVMs with side turn indicator, stainless door step and so on. The top end variant comes with a multifunctional steering wheel, which is mounted with cruise control, all four power windows with driver side auto down function and many other such aspects. In terms of safety, it is equipped with an engine immobilizer, dual front airbags, front fog lamps and several other aspects, which makes it one of the safest vehicle in its class.

Mileage and Fuel Economy:


Its petrol engine is integrated with a multi point fuel injection supply system, which allows the vehicle to deliver around 14 Kmpl in the city while 19.8 Kmpl on the highway. Its 1.1-litre diesel mill is incorporated with a common rail based direct injection fuel supply system. It helps in producing 19 and 22 Kmpl on the city and highways. At the same time, in LPG mode, it has the ability to produce a decent fuel economy of 17.7 Km/kg, which is quite decent for this segment.

Power:


Its 1.1-litre diesel engine has the ability to deliver a maximum power of 69ps at 5500rpm in combination with a peak torque of 10.1 Kg-m at 4500rpm. While it can also produce good power and torque outputs in LPG mode as well. On the other hand, its 1.2-litre Kappa petrol motor can churn out 80ps power at 6000rpm along with a commanding torque of 11.4Kg-m at 4000rpm.

Acceleration and Pickup:


The engine with a five speed manual transmission gear box, can attain a maximum speed in the range of 165 to 175 Kmph. It can take up to 14 seconds for crossing the speed barrier of 100 Kmph from a standstill. At the same time, with the help of a four speed automatic transmission gear box, this hatchback can achieve a top speed of 160 Kmph and it can accelerate from zero to 100 Kmph in close to 13.6 seconds.

Exteriors:


The company has designed the exteriors of this Hyundai i10 hatchback series with a lot of striking features and gives it an aerodynamic body structure. To begin with the frontage, it has a hexagonal radiator grille with a lot of chrome treatment, which makes it look aggressive. It is embedded with a prominent company logo in the center. This grille is flanked by a rectangular shaped headlight cluster that is powered by halogen lamps and side turn indicator. This model series is has a spacious passenger cabin, which can easily accommodate five passengers. Its overall length measures about 3585mm along with a total width of 1595mm including external rear view mirrors and a decent height of 1550mm. It has a large wheelbase of 2380mm and it has a minimum ground clearance of 165mm as well. Its steering wheel supports a minimum turning radius of 4.75 meters.

Interiors:


The interiors of Hyundai i10 hatchback series is quite good and incorporated with a lot of sophisticated features. Its seating arrangement is very snug and provides ample leg space for all its passengers. All these seats are covered with premium fabric or leather upholstery depending on the variants. Its dashboard is equipped with a few aspects, which includes AC vents, a large glove box, an advanced instrument panel with several notifications and a three spoke steering wheel. The company has given it a lot of utility based aspects for the convenience of its occupants. These features are cup and bottle holders, front seat back pockets, door map pockets and a large boot compartment with a rear parcel shelf as well.

It has a spacious internal cabin, which has the capacity of accommodating five passengers. It offers generous headroom of 990mm (Front) and 940mm (Rear) along with the front legroom of 1190mm. The boot capacity of this hatchback is 225 litres, which can be increased by folding its rear seat. Its fuel tank can store about 35 litres of petrol or diesel in it.

Engine and Performance:


The compact hatchback is available with petrol, diesel and LPG fuel options. Its diesel variants are equipped with a 1.1-litre power plant under the bonnet and comes with a displacement capacity of 1086cc. This intelligent responsive drive engine (iRDE) is integrated with four cylinders and twelve valves using single overhead camshaft based valve configuration. It has the ability of producing a maximum power of 69ps at 5500rpm in combination with a peak torque of 10.1 Kg-m at 4500rpm. It is mated with a five speed manual transmission gear box, which sends the engine power to its front wheels. On the other hand, its petrol trims are powered by a 1.2-litre engine, which has a displacement capacity of 1197cc. It is DOHC based mill, which can churn out 80ps power at 6000rpm along with a commanding torque of 11.4Kg-m at 4000rpm. This motor is coupled with both manual or automatic transmission gear box, depending on the variants.

Stereo and Accessories:


It comes with an advanced music system, which supports CD/MP3 player, radio with AM/FM tuner along with four speakers. The top end variant also has Bluetooth connectivity for pairing mobile phones. Apart from these, the owners can also customize it various aspects like leather seats, floor mats, body graphics, alloy wheels, music system and several other features.

Wheels:


The neatly crafted wheel arches of its base variant are fitted with a set of 13-inch steel wheels, which have been covered with full wheel covers. While other variants have the same size alloy wheels that enhances the look of its side profile. These rims are covered with 155/70 R13 sized tubeless radial tyres, which ensures a superior grip on any road conditions.

Braking and Handling:


The suspension system of this Hyundai i10 model series is quite proficient, which keeps it well balanced at all times. Its front axle is assembled with a McPherson strut, while rear gets coupled torsion beam type of mechanism. Both these axles are assisted by hydraulic twin tube gas filled shock absorbers. The front wheels are equipped with a set of ventilated disc brakes and the rear wheels have been fitted with drum brakes, which also has brake booster. Its motor driven power steering system is quite responsive and it also has tilt adjustable function, which makes it more comfortable.

Safety and Security:


The list of some vital protective aspects includes ABS a long with electronic brake force distribution, a high mounted third brake light, fog lamps, rear defogger with timer, dual front airbags, rear parking sensor along with a rear view camera, automatic headlight control, a day and night inside rear view mirror. It also has an advanced engine immobilizer that prevents the vehicle from any unauthorized entry.
