Introduction

Hyundai's brand slogan “NEW THINKING. NEW POSSIBILITIES.” reflects a lot about the will of the company to put its best efforts to give the best range of cars to its loyal customers. The slogan tells that Hyundai understands the importance of innovation and appreciates new thoughts leading to new possibilities. For Hyundai, manufacturing a car is like an art which has always won people's heart. The company has now come up with its dexterous and efficient MPV named Hyundai H1. Ever since its inauguration in 1997, H1 has been performing well on sales charts worldwide and endeavors to accomplish even bigger benchmarks in the upcoming years.

Engine mileage and variants

For Bangladesh market, H1 comes employed with a 2.4 liter MPI engine. This advanced engine can generate a maximum power output of 175 PS at 6000 rpm along with a peak torque of 227 Nm at 4200 rpm. Mated with the 4-speed automatic transmission, H1 can accelerate from halt to 100 km/hr in 17.5 seconds while attaining a top speed of 182 km/hr. The manufacturers have made sure that H1 not only delivers a decent performance but also is economically viable. H1 delivers a mileage of 10 kmpl which is pretty decent.

Exterior

Hyundai H1 has been designed in such a way that it stands apart from the crowd of other vans with its silhouette resting on 5125 mm x 1920 mm x 1925 mm (L x W x H). Such layout definitely means that there is plenty of room for cargo deliveries or holiday luggage. On the enormous body of this car Hyundai's signature head lamp shape can be seen along with rear combination lamps fog lamps and chrome grill. There are tilting doors and flush glasses to maintain styling. Another interesting element is the ventilation system built on the ceiling which can be controlled independently or via knob. H1 comes employed with 16 inch alloy wheels that add to the dynamism.

Interior

Inside the Hyundai H1, the woven fabric seats for nine or twelve passengers are superbly crafted making it very comfortable with good amount of head and leg room. More to it are the power windows controls, multi switch panel, back seat tray, sun visor, sunglass case, ECM , cabin lamps , cup holders, door lamps, seat bench tie up,dual door pocket and rear sit air controls. Along with all such super features, H1 comes with a decent quality audio system comprising of a radio CD player MP3 player and USB/ AUX music makes it more lively.

Safety, Braking and Miscellaneous

Passive safety features include a sturdy body, a full complement of air bags and optional anti lock brakes along with standard equipments such as ESP and ABS. Despite of having a length of more than 5 meters the car has turning circle of not more than 5.6 meters with flexible suspensions which would ensure a jerk free ride on bumps. The disc brakes incorporated on all the four wheels work in synergy with Anti Lock Braking System to deliver an efficient braking performance.

Verdict

With ample comfort features, this wagon is definitely not just a cargo carrier but it is an MPV of modern times. However, it lacks sufficient entertainment options which is a drawback.
