Under the Everest's hood lies a robust 3.0 liter TDCi 4x4 5AT inline 4 cylinder diesel engine generates a maximum power of 115 kW at 3200 rpm along with a high torque of 380 Nm at 1800 rpm. The progressive diesel engine have the propensity to deliver more power, significant mileage and decent fuel economy. The 3.0 liter TDCi DOHC 16 engine gives the mileage of 11.7 kmpl, which is pretty decent. Ford has ensured that the new Everest is not only economically viable but swift too. Ford Everest takes only 8.2 seconds to acquire the 100 km/hr mark starting from halt, while the top speed is about 193 km/h.

Exteriors:

The new Ford Everest boasts of a contemporary design that communicates a very commanding road presence. The design of the Everest is inspired by Ford's Tough truck heritage, and by sharing underpinnings with its ancestor, the Everest manages to be a rugged off-roader and a luxurious 7-seater at the same time. A bold chrome grille with matching chrome accents add style to the entire body. Interiors:

The brand new addition of the Ford, borrow its chassis from its once-best-seller elder sibling – Endeavor. The space and comfort inside the Everest is in direct contrast to the harsh terrain it is capable of navigating. The new Ford Everest offers you everything from the comfort of leather seats and seating for up to 7 with generous leg room to a huge boot space. The entertainment part is intact with advanced CD or MP3 player along with auxiliary inputs jacks for your iPod with 6 speakers, making every journey, no matter where you go, as comfortable as possible. With innovative stowage spaces, plush camel interior and a high-end instrument panel, the Everest ensures that the lap of luxury is the only place you’ll be sitting on wherever your journey takes you. It offers 30 storage spaces around the cabin which along with the boot space comprises the total storage volume of 2010 liters.

Safety, Braking and Miscellaneous:

Being an American automobile manufacturer, Ford has never compromised on safety, even while crafting low-budget cars. Everest boasts of the same class-apart safety features. This sturdy SUV car is employed with Anti-lock braking system (ABS) that prevents wheels from locking up and avoids undisciplined skidding. Dual front and side impact airbags both keep the driver and front seat passenger safe in the event of a collision. It also provides a comfortable and stable ride with frisky and predictable handling, appointing independent double wishbone Torsion bar with stabilizer at front suspension and leaf spring also with stabilizer at rear.

Verdict:

The Ford Everest is one impressive SUV, with all the right ingredients and pedigree to make an outstanding off-roader. The exterior looks are quite impressive but the SUV somehow lacks that massive road presence that an SUV like Fortuner would command easily.
